The key feature of the Amp Eventcorder is the ability to leave it deployed on the line to record events that are step changes in the current. When a change in current is triggered the Amp Eventcorder records the following parameters: • Date and time of the event • Pre-event current • Peak current • Average current during the event • Duration of the event in cycles • The RMS value of each cycle during the event • Post event current The Amp Eventcorder easily attaches to the line with a standard shotgun style hot-stick. Once on the line, it immediately begins to monitor the line for step changes in the current. The Amp Eventcorder uses the same sensor technology as the original Ampstik. The True RMS inductive sensor does not use magnetic materials and has no moving parts. The opening of the sensor is electronically closed and externalcurrents are electronically rejected. The accuracy, external current reject, and range of currents measured by the patented amp sensor substantially exceed the performance of the best clamp-on sensors. The housing of the Eventcorder is made of urethane and is built to operate safely, even in severe utility environments. It is resistant to shock, repels water and is unsusceptible to flame. It also operates within a wide temperature range. The Eventcorder has a urethane carabiner latch assembly, which allows it to hang on the line securely in all weather conditions. An Eventcorder is equipped with an infrared serial port for communicating the recorded data into the user's PC. The data is downloaded through SensorLink's SoftLink software, which allows the user to download, view and query the data stored on the Eventcorder. SoftLink is a user-friendly software interface that runs in Microsoft Excel®. It allows the user to set trigger parameters, download events, view data, and graph the cycle-by-cycle results of the event. The data can be presented in 3 ways: • Raw data in spreadsheet format • Stylized Graph to quickly represent the magnitude and duration of events • Detailed Graph that shows the cycle-bycycle RMS values during the event The data directly transfers from the Eventcorder into Excel through an Infrared Port. Because the software engine is Excel, data transfer to Microsoft Word®, Power Point®, or other Windows applications becomes a snap. Microsoft Excel not included. |
