New Medium Voltage Voltmeter for use by One Man, with One Stick
Acme, Washington, August 28, 2006 – The SensorLink Voltstik is rated for voltages from 0 to 37,000 volts. It is designed for measuring voltage anywhere on a medium distribution system. Phase to ground, phase to phase, overhead and underground measurements are all made by one man with one stick. The same meter can measure both the primary and secondary voltages and keep its 1% accuracy rating. It is simple and safe for one man to operate with the SensorLink Auto-Clamp.
The Remote Display gives the user instant confirmation of the voltage and the ability to store up to four readings while allowing the user to keep both eyes and hands on the task of taking the measurement. The user has the option to hold the remote display in their hands or mount it to a hot stick.
The remote display shows the voltage measurement and continues to update the reading three times per second, using a non-licensed 900 MHz radio. The display features a five-digit display that shows full scale 1 volt resolution. The display can also be 50 plus feet away from the Voltstik and continue to read the values being measured.
A multimedia flash presentation showing how this Voltstik works can be viewed at: www.sensorlink.com . Simply select the yellow link that says “How It Works” in the middle of the Voltstik page. The Voltstik page can be found by selecting “Meters” from the home page. The SensorLink Voltstik will give electric utility organizations new abilities to troubleshoot their medium distribution systems as well as the ability to use the same meter to check phasing or to check for an energized conductor.
