The Ampstik 2 uses the same current sensor technology as the original Ampstik. Its key feature is the ability to measure current in multiple locations and save the readings for future review.
The SensorLink patented amp inductive sensor does not use magnetic materials and has no moving parts. The opening of the sensor is electronically closed and external currents are also electronically rejected. The sensor is not position sensitive, just slip the Ampstik2 over a conductor. The meter will store the current measurement within two seconds. Move to the next conductor and repeat the process. When all the measurements are completed, return the instrument to eye level. Press the button and the measurements are displayed in a scrolling format in "last in first out" order. Each measurement is marked with a group and item numbers. The single button operates the instrument. By holding the button down the user can select Mark to create a new group, review the Previous Group, or Power-Off. Letting go of the button enables the command on the LCD. The data can be reviewed one group at a time or downloaded in total to a spreadsheet file. The Ampstik2 ends the need to raise and lower a hotstick for each reading. The easy storing and retrieval of data make it a labor saving and useful instrument. |
